Job Description Purpose of the job
Together with your colleagues, you will provide the best service to your client portfolio in terms of ensuring the integrity of accounting records, providing customised interim reports, guiding complex transactions, and coordinating fiscal matters with the tax advisor. As Senior Accountant / Senior Account Manager, you are responsible for managing a client portfolio of international clients from an accounting, reporting, tax, and cash management perspective. You will also support the team in pro-active participating in projects to further improve the services delivery of the local team.
Main Responsibilities
Act as first point of contact / relationship manager for your clients.
Support and guide your clients in a continuous changing and evolving financial and fiscal landscape.
Process the bookkeeping and prepare financial statements (incl. reconciliation, cash flow statements, loan administration, reporting and annual accounts) in accordance with Dutch GAAP and/or International Reporting Statements.
Pro-active guidance of transactions (e.g. acquisitions, restructuring, mergers, cash distributions, (re)financing, capital contributions) from an accounting, tax, and transaction monitoring perspective, in close cooperation with your legal colleagues.
Process transaction monitoring procedures, complying with WTT2018.
Process and coordinate CIT & VAT returns.
Prepare audit files and guide statutory audits.
Follow-up and coordinate on client specific accounting and reporting requests.
Maintain contact with shareholders, clients, banks, auditors, and business partners.
Process other services as required together with your colleagues (e.g. opening of bank accounts, tax registrations).
Ensure compliance with among others WTT2018, DAC6, ATAD, FATCA, etc.
Qualifications Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance (e.g. Accounting, Business Economics, Business Administration)
5 - 7 years of experience (audit, accounting or financial services industry).
Solid knowledge of Book 2 Chapter 9 of Dutch Civil Code and Dutch GAAP; Solid knowledge of International Reporting Standards is an additional asset.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in managing / coaching a small (junior) finance team.
A strong communicator with excellent client relationship management skills.
Extended knowledge of Excel, NavOne, and Caseware.
Analytical skills.
The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Motivated, efficient, and well organised.
A problem solving and can-do mentality.
Fluent in English and the Dutch language is preferred.
