Data Engineer

About the role
Who we are
Insight First
is het
remote data & BI-team
DWH-ontwerp:
slim inrichten van BigQuery (partitioning, clustering, hashing, cost-control).
Datamodellering:
dbt-modellen bouwen en beheren (staging → marts), inclusief tests en documentatie.
Data-kwaliteit & security:
Innovatie & experiment:
PoC’s voor AI-toepassingen of kleine tools bouwen in Google stack (denk aan App Script, tool op BigQuery, reverse ETL flow, etc.).
Who you are en wat je meeneemt
3+ jaar ervaring
in data engineering of een vergelijkbare rol.
Sterk in
Python en SQL
(BigQuery-dialect).
Nice to haves
Contract: 32–40 uur, hybride werken; NL/EN werktaal
25 vakantiedagen + volledige reiskostenvergoeding

About the role (English)
Good decisions start with good data. At
Insight First , we build the foundation that fuels the growth of fast-scaling e-commerce brands. We’re a team of driven Analytics Engineers and are looking for an
IT-minded Data Engineer . Someone who experiments with new technology, explores how AI can make work smarter, and understands that reliability and scalability are the backbone of any solid data infrastructure.
You’ll be working on everything from API integrations and ETL to designing a robust data warehouse in BigQuery. You’re comfortable with Python, Google Cloud, BigQuery, and CI/CD, but also enjoy puzzling with SQL and transforming raw data into clean, normalized tables. You don’t just keep systems running; you continuously improve them and make them future-proof.
No day is the same: one day you’re exploring a new API, the next you’re optimizing partitioning in BigQuery or building a dbt SQL model with hundreds of tables. Meanwhile, you’re always thinking ahead: how can we make this smarter, faster, more stable?
In short: you’ll be building the technical backbone of our work for more than 45 e-commerce clients.
