Data plays an important role in understanding commercial performance and making better business decisions. For an international trading organization, we are looking for a

Data Analyst

who knows how to combine technology with business.

You will become part of a Finance & Business Control team of approximately 10 professionals, working alongside another Data Analyst. This means you are deliberately

embedded within the business rather than the central Data & AI team .

This makes the position a combination of

Data Analyst and internal data consultant . You will work closely with Business Controllers and the commercial organization, understand their challenges, and translate them into practical data solutions. At the same time, you will collaborate extensively with specialists within Data & AI and IT.

You are technically capable, but more importantly, you want to understand

why

you are building something and what value it creates for the business.

What will you do?

An important part of your role will be making existing processes smarter and more efficient. You will automate recurring activities, reduce dependency on complex Excel files, and further develop the reporting and data environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

Automating and optimizing recurring Business Control processes, reporting, and analytical workflows.

Building and improving data solutions using

Python, SQL, and Tableau .

Developing and maintaining dashboards, automated workflows, and reporting tools.

Working closely with Business Controllers and the commercial organization to translate business questions into practical technical solutions.

Further developing the

Tableau environment

and acting as a key point of contact for dashboards, visualization, and self-service analytics.

Making data more accessible so that Business Controllers can independently explore information and answer recurring business questions.

Exploring how

AI and automation

can practically improve analysis, reporting, and operational processes.

Collaborating closely with the Data & AI team and IT on data architecture, governance, security, and technology standards.

Ensuring solutions are reliable, scalable, properly tested, documented, and maintainable.

Proactively identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and enable better data-driven decision-making.

Ultimately, the objective is simple:

spend less time collecting and processing data and create more time for analysis and better decision-making.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who combines technical expertise with a genuine

interest in the business . You enjoy working with data and technology, but you also want to understand what is happening commercially and why certain information matters.

You could be a great fit if you:

Have at least

2 years of relevant professional experience

as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, BI Developer, Analytics Consultant, or in a comparable role.

Have experience with

SQL

and preferably

Python .

Have experience with a BI or data visualization tool; experience with

Tableau is a strong plus .

Have an affinity with

Finance, Business Control and/or commercial environments .

Enjoy working at the intersection of

business and technology

and can translate business challenges into practical data solutions.

Preferably hold a

Bachelor's or Master's degree

in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Econometrics, Information Management, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.

Have an interest in

AI, automation, and developments within data , particularly how these technologies can be applied to real business challenges.

Take a proactive approach and independently identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and analysis.

Have strong communication skills and are comfortable working with both business stakeholders and technical specialists.

What type of person will thrive in this role?

This position is particularly suited to someone who does not want to spend the entire day solely coding or analysing datasets.

You enjoy talking to the business, understanding the problem behind a request, and then using your technical expertise to develop the solution.
