Cloud Engineer – Utrecht – ALTEN

The Position

As part of our growing company, we are looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our team and contribute to ongoing client projects.

As a Cloud Engineer, your main tasks will include:

• Designing, developing, and implementing scalable data platforms and cloud-native solutions within Azure and AWS environments
• Defining and designing end-to-end solution architectures based on business, information, application, and technical requirements
• Translating business and functional requirements into robust technical designs
• Designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, ETL processes, and cloud infrastructures for analytics, reporting, and operational applications
• Collecting, cleaning, transforming, and loading data from various data sources
• Developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and/or Bicep
• Supporting cloud migrations and the modernization of existing data and application platforms
• Working on innovative solutions within IoT, AI, and data-intensive environments

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (HBO/WO) in an IT-related field
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure (experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform is a plus)
• Proficient in Python and SQL/T-SQL
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, AWS Glue, Amazon EMR, or similar cloud services
• Knowledge of CI/CD processes, DevOps principles, and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with Terraform and/or Bicep
• Experience with Docker; knowledge of Kubernetes is a plus
• Coaching mindset and experience guiding engineers and development teams
• Ability to operate at strategic, tactical, and operational levels
• Proactive attitude, strong sense of ownership, and organizational insight
• Curious mindset and eagerness to continuously learn and grow
• Leadership skills within complex technical environments
• Fluent in English
