Data engineer

Based in or around Utrecht| 32 to 40 hours | € 3.000 – € 5.000

We're looking for a Data Engineer to join our team and help build robust, scalable data solutions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys optimizing data pipelines, ensuring data reliability, and working with large-scale datasets to support business intelligence and machine learning initiatives. Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to align technical solutions with business needs are essential. With a variety of projects and clients, adaptability, collaboration, and a solution-oriented mindset are key to success in this role.

Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable and reliable data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and integration.

Architect and optimize scalable, high-performance data warehousing solutions to ensure reliability and efficiency.

Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand their business needs, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver impactful results.

Ensure data systems meet quality, governance, and compliance standards.

Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Share knowledge with the team to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.

Skills & Qualifications

Proficiency with Python.

Experience in at least one cloud platform, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Familiarity with SQL, NoSQL databases, and BigQuery for data storage and analysis.

Experience building ETL pipelines, preferably for both batch and streaming data, is preferred.

Experience with tools like Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Terraform.

Familiar with Docker.

Preferably with knowledge on DevOps or Arquitecture.

Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts effectively.

At least 1 year of experience in a role as a data engineer.
