Data Scientist / Data Engineer
Make large international data flows scalable and help detect money laundering and terrorist financing.
Your role
What you will do:
Develop and maintain the transaction monitoring data model for international data sources.
Write, optimise and deliver production-ready code to process large data flows at scale.
Build and contribute to a monorepository and onboard new regions to the data model.
Coordinate with data producers across the organisation about data sources and data quality.
Collaborate with developers who implement transaction monitoring logic to ensure reliable data.
Typical day
Start with team stand-up, work on development and optimisation tasks, participate in sprint planning and occasional brainstorming sessions. During your first year you will become familiar with the team's way of working and the data model, aiming to jointly take ownership of the data model's technical soundness.
Requirements
Must-haves:
At least 4 years of relevant work experience as a Data Scientist or Data Engineer.
Experience with PySpark and data transformations in Python.
Professional proficiency in English (Dutch not required).
Strong communication skills, a proactive working style and ability to collaborate professionally.
Master's degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, mathematics, information studies or a comparable STEM subject.
Ability to solve problems and critically reflect on your own work.
Nice-to-haves:
Experience in an IT environment.
Experience with Databricks and Microsoft Azure.
Knowledge of medallion architecture.

Working hours: 36 or 40 hours per week
Hybrid: Work from the office on Mondays and Thursdays; work from home on other days

The candidate has to be available throughout the entire duration of the assignment
