Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced

Python Engineer

to help us innovate across our fleet of unmanned systems. In this role, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement solutions that improve the performance and reliability of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).

You will work on integrating advanced technologies to enable cutting-edge applications, while managing project objectives and helping the team deliver successful outcomes. Your contributions will help enable our UAVs to autonomously perform a wide range of missions, regardless of where they are deployed.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the software development team in designing and implementing software solutions for unmanned systems.

Collaborate on multidisciplinary projects and apply your technical expertise to solve complex challenges.

Support and mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and teamwork within the team.

Participate in strategic meetings and contribute to the direction of technology development and project planning.

General Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM field, or equivalent professional experience.

Proven experience in a software development role, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in software architecture and development.

Experience with edge computing and edge devices.

Willingness to travel to Amsterdam when required and to participate effectively in a collaborative office environment.

Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.

Technical Expertise

Extensive experience with Python and knowledge of additional programming languages, preferably C/C++.

Strong background in computer vision models and their practical applications.

Expertise in statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making.

Proficiency in API design, event-driven architectures, and integration patterns.

Strong knowledge of and practical experience with Git for version control and collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points)

Hands-on experience with ArduPilot and the MAVLink protocol.

Familiarity with 3D printing and/or soldering.

Strong command of Dutch, both written and spoken.

Experience working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

A strong understanding of aerodynamic principles.
