We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join a fast-growing energy storage developer focused on developing, building and managing large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across Europe.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day financial control, supporting monthly and quarterly reporting, preparing annual accounts and working closely with internal teams to manage project budgets, forecasts, cash flow and financial performance. You will also collaborate with external auditors and finance partners across the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France to ensure accurate reporting and efficient financial processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with approximately five years of experience in accounting, auditing or financial controlling who is looking to make an impact within the renewable energy sector. The role offers hybrid working, exposure to major European energy storage projects and the opportunity to help shape the financial operations of a rapidly expanding company at the forefront of the energy transition.

Key Responsibilities

Execute and oversee the financial administration of the Dutch entities, working closely with external accounting partners in the Netherlands.

Coordinate with accounting partners in Belgium, Germany and France to ensure financial records for international entities remain accurate and up to date.

Support monthly and quarterly financial closing processes across more than 20 entities.

Assist in preparing annual financial accounts and act as a key point of contact for external auditors.

Work closely with development, construction and asset management teams to translate project activities into financial reporting.

Support project-level financial reporting, including budgets, forecasts, cash flow management and variance analysis.

Identify opportunities to improve existing finance, compliance and administrative processes.

Prepare and deliver financial reports to the Finance Manager, CFO, shareholders and financing partners.

Your Profile

Fluent Dutch and English language skills are essential.

Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline (HBO or WO).

Approximately 5 years of relevant experience in financial administration, controlling, accounting or auditing.

Hands‑on experience preparing and working with audited annual accounts.

Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting procedures and audit requirements.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with the wider Microsoft Office suite.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to take ownership of financial processes.

A proactive, pragmatic approach to problem‑solving within a fast‑growing business.

An interest in the energy transition, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) or infrastructure projects, with a willingness to develop industry knowledge.
