We are supporting an innovative technology company in the Sittard region that is embarking on a major embedded systems transformation program. To support this strategic initiative, we are looking for an experienced

Interim Transformation Engineer / Manager

who can help define, qualify, and lead the migration journey from a legacy platform to a modern Linux-based environment.

The initial focus will be on evaluating the current landscape, assessing technical and organizational challenges, and defining the transformation roadmap. The assignment will start at

8-16 hours per week , with the possibility of increasing to

full-time involvement

as the project progresses.

Responsibilities

Assess the current embedded software ecosystem and

identify transformation requirements .

Define

and

qualify

the

roadmap

for migrating embedded devices from

Windows CE to Linux .

Evaluate

technical

risks ,

dependencies ,

resources , and

implementation

strategies.

Engage

with engineering, management, and business stakeholders to align objectives.

Translate business and technical requirements into a structured transformation plan.

Support decision-making regarding architecture, tooling, processes, and execution approach.

Lead or coordinate the transformation program from qualification through implementation.

Drive change management and ensure stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

Proven experience managing or delivering large-scale technology transformation initiatives.

Strong background in embedded systems, software engineering, system architecture, or technical program management.

Hands-on understanding of embedded software development environments.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Ability to operate both strategically and pragmatically in an evolving environment.

Experience defining roadmaps, budgets, timelines, and project governance structures.

Nice to Have

Previous experience with a

Windows CE to Linux migration

within embedded devices.

Experience having led such a transformation as either an

Engineer ,

Architect ,

Technical Lead ,

Project Manager , or

Transformation Manager .

Knowledge of embedded Linux distributions, BSPs, drivers, middleware, and system integration.

Experience in industrial, electronics, medical, or high-tech product development environments.
