Role and Responsibilities As a Senior Accountant at WeTravel, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our accounting systems and processes. You'll be entrusted with the day-to-day accounting operations, focusing on ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the reconciliation of accounts receivable and payable, managing ledger balances, and facilitating the preparation of financial statements.
Your expertise will also extend to overseeing the accounting activities of our Dutch subsidiary, collaborating with external tax advisors, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and GAAP.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Experience of accounting and/or finance experience, with a preference for backgrounds in fast-paced startups.
Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and procedures. An advanced degree in Accounting is preferred.
Proficient in managing general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
Technologically adept with a strong motivation to streamline and enhance accounting processes.
Meticulous, with excellent analytical, planning, and reporting skills.
Experience with QuickBooks, Excel/Google Sheets, and Stripe.
Effective communication in English and the ability to establish robust working relationships with both external advisors and internal teams.
Experience in public accounting.
CPA or CMA qualifications.
Familiarity with Dutch accounting standards.
Dutch language skills.
Expertise in accounts receivable, collections processes, and international payroll.
Knowledge of SaaS or subscription-based business models and reporting standards.
