Job title : Senior Electrical Engineer - BESS
Location : Rotterdam, The Netherlands
Contract length : Freelancing - 12 months – potential for extension
Rate : Negotiable
Languages : English and bonus if can speak Dutch
We are seeking an experiences Senior Electrical Engineer to support the development and delivery of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across The Netherlands. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, grid integration, commissioning and optimisation of large-scale energy storage facilities supporting the Dutch energy transition.
Responsibilities:
Lead electrical design activities for utility-scale BESS projects ranging from 20MW to 300MW.
Develop MV and HV electrical designs including single line diagrams, protection schemes and substation interfaces.
Perform electrical studies including load flow, short circuit and protection coordination analysis using ETAP.
Support FAT, SAT and commissioning activities during project delivery.
Provide technical support during project development, construction and operational phases.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 3-5+ years of experience in power systems, substations, renewable energy or BESS projects.
Strong knowledge of IEC standards and protection philosophies.
Right to Work in the EU, no sponsorship is available.
